Case Study: Dominion House Flats
Delivering Light, Airflow & Security: Louvre Windows in a Residential Block

LAMILUX was tasked with supplying and installing 28 TGL louvre windows in the corridors of Dominion House, a block of flats in West Ealing. Through a collaborative effort FTG Ltd and LAMILUX delivered a complete turnkey solution, managing every phase of the project from survey and supply to installation and controls.
The project aimed to enhance natural daylight, ventilation and improve the building's energy efficiency while minimizing disruption to residents.
Coordinated Louvres Replacement
LAMILUX coordinated the delivery of materials in advance to ensure timely commencement of the works. The LAMILUX installation team worked with FTG Ltd to ensure access to the necessary areas, particularly at the end of the corridors on each floor, where the louvres were to be replaced. LAMILUX's experienced installation team, performed the work efficiently over a two week period.
The installation process included removal of the existing louvres, installation of the new TGL louvres and actuators, and finally glazing of the blades after installation. LAMILUX then coordinated access to scaffolding for external sealing of the units ensuring optimum air and water tightness. Upon completion, FTG Ltd completed the installation with the commissioning of the controls.
Timely and Precise Installation
LAMILUX made sure to minimize disruption by working internally, only removing the internal frame, blades, and actuator, and leaving the external frame in place. This allowed for a smooth installation with minimal noise and disruption to residents.
Close coordination was maintained between LAMILUX’s team, other subcontractors, and the building’s residents. All work areas were cordoned off to ensure safety, and the team worked with residents to limit any inconvenience.
LAMILUX successfully installed the 28 TGL louvre windows, improving ventilation and the overall environmental efficiency of Dominion House. The careful planning, delivery, and installation processes ensured that the project was completed smoothly, with minimal disruption and maximum effectiveness and all materials were disposed of using the supplied skip.
The project was completed within the agreed timeline, and the louvres now provide enhanced airflow and natural light to the corridors, contributing to a more comfortable and sustainable living environment for the residents.
